Report from Class President Lance Fischer regarding Class of 1971 Scholarship Fund
Great News! We have hit the $71,000 goal. As of February 28, 2021, the principal balance of the Class of 1971 Scholarship Fund is $71,377.70. As of last month (January 31, 2021) the fund balance was $68,725.00. This is a gain of $2,652.70 in one month time and that is amazing.
It does not mean we can now just relax. We want to see how far ahead we can go above our original goal of $71,000, so please keep on giving.
Many, many thanks go to nine people who made donations to the class scholarship fund for the month of February. Below is a list of names of donors for the month of February.
Jon Cetrano
Tom Coulston
Nancy Thayer Daniels
Randy Fisher
Steven Frank
Ronald Huntley
Roman Kazragis
Randy Fisher
Helena Schmitt
I know some of you made a donation and you may be disappointed not seeing your name on the list. The reason is that Gallaudet has not yet processed your payment before the end of February. Your name should show up next month.
Also, I want to inform you that William Baldwin, a member of the Class of 2021, is the recipient of the Class of 1971 scholarship fund. He received an award of $3,107.21 for his studies last semester. He is originally from Memphis, TN. He is a transfer student as he enrolled at Gallaudet in 2020. He is in the Honors Program and he has made the Dean’s List every semester since being at Gallaudet. He is working toward an undergraduate degree in Philosophy. He is extremely grateful that we, as members of the Class of 1971, are able to help him with his college expenses. This is important that we keep giving.
Before I end this message, Kitty and I hope all of our dear classmates are doing well and have already received the COVID 19 vaccination. We sincerely hope to see you at Gallaudet Homecoming this October. Stay safe!
