Linda Svarney
1948-2022
Linda Svarney died of a heart attack on January 16, 2022. She is survived by her Deaf son, Ladimer “Lad” Baird, Deaf daughter-in-law, Colleen and their children in Indiana. Linda was a doting grandmother of four grandchildren, Skyla, River (Deaf), Isla and Seanna (Deaf).
Our thoughts are with Linda’s family.

Nancy Thayer Daniels
1948-2022
- Graduated from Michigan School for the Deaf (MSD)
- Our classmate at Gallaudet from 1966-1968
- Three children – two of them are Deaf from her first marriage
- Married the late Ronnie Zuchegno, E-‘71 in 1997
- Retired from MSD in 2008 after 32 years of service
- Became a widow in 2009
- Married Philip Daniels, ’69 in 2015
- Proud grandmother to several grandchildren
- Active member of the Flint Association of the Deaf

Age 73 of Swartz Creek passed away Friday, January 7, 2022.

Here is a photo of our 45th wedding anniversary on December 11th, 2021 at the Rezz Hotel, Newton - a suburb in Adelaide, South Australia.

She was one of the illustrators for the Knob Hill News, 1966-1967.
Carolyn graduated from Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, Florida. She received a degree in art from Gallaudet in 1972. She got her bachelor and master's degrees in media from University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1974.
Carolyn was the first deaf to be employed at the Caption Center, WGBH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts in 1974.
Carolyn was the first president of the newly formed Massachusetts State Association of the Deaf in 1975.
Carolyn served on the advisory board for Spectrum, Focus on Deaf Artists in Austin from 1978-1985.
She received a teacher's certificate from University of Texas in Austin in 1994 and bilingual certificate in 2004. She retired from Texas School for the Deaf after 30 years of service in 2014.
